The invention covers the field of chemical compound. The invention relates to a process for producing a methanecontaining gas from synthesis gas, wherein a synthesis gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen is fed for methanation to a reactor system having a catalyst material.
During patent examination, the patent examiner raised objections under Section 3(d) of the Indian Patents Act, wherein the examiner stated the given invention is a mere use of a known process in respect of the process disclosed by citations unless such known process results in a new product or employs at least one new reactant.
