This invention relates to a method for reporting location information of a user is disclosed in the invention, which is configured for achieving the report of location information of User Equipment (UE) during the procedure that UE is handed over to another serving cell, and includes the following steps: a source evolved Node B (eNB) initiates a handover procedure; during the handover procedure, the source eNB sends the location reporting information to a target eNB, the target eNB acquires the location information of UE based on the location reporting information and reports it to a Mobility Management Entity (MME) corresponding to the target eNB.

During the patent examination, the Patent Examiner raised objections under Section 3(k) of the Patents Act, 1970 stating that the Claims disclose a program for causing a computer to execute achieving the report of location information of User Equipment and initiating the handover procedure, said program causing the computer to execute information processing with the help of an algorithm

As a response, the Applicant submitted that the amended claims do not fall with the scope of the objection as the subject matter invention is neither s software a software per se nor merely an algorithm. The invention relates to a system and a device for reporting location information of User Equipment (UE) during the procedure of switching UE.
